Seriously? I can rant HERE??? That's awesome! My ranting will probably not make any sense though because I will leave out important details.
Today's rant: Some people should not be allowed to reproduce. Thankfully some of them haven't!

monstrous little attic squirrels that seem to know how to put the slip on the people who were paid to, um, "re-locate" them. I swear they play tag at 2am and chitter back and forth. I cuss at them when I see them outside jumping from the roof to the tree.

I'm going to rant for a bit...
First some background info: I work with a cover band and convinced them to do originals so they would have an opportunity to be on a tv show that is available to 5 million viewers in 10 states. After a year of being a "pushy b*tch", I finally got some originals out of them and presented them for this tv show. Yay, they got chosen! Yes, I'm excited about that and so is the band. The band insists on giving me full credit for it, but they got it because they are that good.
Now on to my rant. Another fan of the band told one of her friends who is also in a band that I accomplished this for my cover band. So guess what? Now this other band wants me to do the same for them! Just because I work for the tv station doesn't mean I actually have any influence on who they are going to pick.
So now I have this heavy metal band giving me tickets to one of their gigs and begging me to get them on this tv show. I believe he also told me he was putting me on the VIP list. Whatever that means.
Maybe this doesn't seem like much of an issue....but I don't think they really understand that I didn't have anything to do with my band actually getting picked. So to have someone misrepresent my role in my band actually getting picked bothers me.

UPDATE ON THE EVIL MONSTROUS ATTIC SQUIRRELS: There was a very flat squirrel on the road right by the tree they use to jump to and from my roof. Let me just state for the record that it was not me who helped the little nut f*cker pass on, but I wasn't exactly sad either. RIP.

i will rant about that bastard customer i had today. i consider it rude to put money on the counter, esp. if the sales person has their hand out. you won't catch cooties putting change in someones hand. today a man was paying in change, he had $3+... he'd put a dime on the counter, id pick it up and place my hand under where he was counting, he'd move, and lay the shit on the counter again. after 7 times of that... i got so annoyed i dropped all the coins in my hand on the counter, and asked my employee to finish with him as i was about to come over the counter. should've known better, his response to my hello, how are you? was ah... gimme a .... cold thing with whip.

Ya know....there are some people who seem to go out of their way to flaunt their relationships with musicians (probably with actors too but I don't play in the acting world, just the music world). I'm thinking if they have to flaunt it then maybe they are trying to make it sound like more than what it actually is.
I know people who know famous musicians but I never see them flaunting it. Heck, I've had some really great experiences with some famous musicians too but I don't plaster them all over the place.
It doesn't matter if the musician is famous, local, or somewhere in between. These people are EVERYWHERE! Maybe that's why Brinton and I get along so well. We tell each other about our experiences but it doesn't go any further than that. And believe me, she has some stories!
I guess that's why I pay to see the band I work with. I can't bring myself to tell the people at the door "I'm with the band - I'm their marketing manager" because I don't want to appear to be one of 'those' people!
Does anyone else get tired of this?

I find it somewhat entertaining when having a conversation with someone at work who is trying to explain why he/she either did something or needs something done without following procedure. And then when I ask for the documentation to support it, he/she changes the whole story - in the same conversation!
Something to remember about accountants: we are trained to be detail oriented and require supporting documentation.

Oh, yes. The stories and experiences are wonderful and I share those with very, very few. It's just better that way.
