holy cow sydna. small world. originally roanoke rapids. but i lived in smithfield for 2 years. and spent quite a bit of time in the raleigh/clayton/garner area. when i was in smithfield i managed the athletes foot (now closed) that was in the walmart center on brightleaf blvd (301). when in roanoke rapids i was a manager with starbucks, so i worked @ the clayton store a time or two to help out. lol. my best friend is sfrom clayton, she now lives in nashville tn. if you're looking for a place close to eat good wings, random suggestion lol, locked and loaded in garner on 70. butter and spice wings are YUMMO!
as for morehead, been there too lol. i seem to recall drinking and getting swung around the dance floor by some marines from surrounding cherry point @ midnight rodeo too.
really small world!

Heading off to see MOTORHEAD !!!!! Finally! I get to tell you just how much I DON"T LOVE YOU! ;D I hope you enjoyed the show! They are here Sept 11th and I already committed myself to a show in Richmond that night! That's gotta be a 1st. I got 'one up' on Sydna when it comes to seeing a show! ;D It was AWESOME!!! Of course we were disappointed Nashville Pussy got bumped for this and the Chicago gig the next night. But... the fill in band 'Sister Sin' out of Sweden were very impressive. Reverend Horton Heat rocked. And Motorhead - WOW! That's all I can say. WOW! Everything Louder Than Everything Else indeed. Thankfully we got to see Mikkey on drums before he takes off to film his silly reality show. It was an awesome gig.

dcprincess--small world indeed! I know all too well about Locked and Loaded! ;D I actually prefer McKinley's wings better and they are only 35c on Sundays but L&L is a great place to go eat and hang out. When the weather is nice I get out on my bike on Sunday afternoons and that's one of the stops since they do have great food and I love the outdoor patio!
Swede--NP wasn't there?! That does suck! I hate to hear that but glad you got to see Sister Sin. They are one of my friends on myspace and I'll have to see if they are going to be over here for a bit and coming close to me. The last time I saw Motorhead was probably 15 years ago and they kicked ass! So glad you enjoyed the show. I hate I"m going to miss it but I'd already made my plans for another show in Richmond the night that they are here. I did however get my Alice Cooper tickets. ;D

So..how was George Lynch? He's coming to a club here in Raleigh next Thursday and I'm looking forward to seeing him. Last time I saw him was probably 10 years ago with Lynch Mob, if not longer.

Unfortunately, I was unable to go afterall. My friend went and got to see soundcheck and talk to George several minutes. She said his is still on top of his game 100%.

Tomorrow is 9/11.
During the weeks that followed the attacks, my friend and I drove to New York and got as close to ground zero as we could. There were still many people passing out fliers with pictures and information about missing friends, family members and loved ones. I knew what their fate had been, we all knew, but the desperation of those people thrusting the fliers at anyone they could filled me with a sense of agonizing urgency and I tried to memorize the faces on the fliers because I thought just what if??? We were all hoping for some kind of miracle.
I also want to remember Elizabeth Wainio. Our neighbor's daughter who died on Flight 93 that day.

I know that will be something that will remain with you forever! I knew several of the first responders that perished. The son of my father's best friend arrived on day 2 for search & rescue and passed a few years ago from a respiratory disease they felt originated from being at Ground Zero. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families each year. On a lighter note, sorta, George Lynch's show here tonight has been canceled. The club booked a show of local bands and refused to postpone them and bring George Lynch to town. I'm in shock that the owner would blow off a national of such standing but alas, such is life. I'm going to see Pop Evil tomorrow night though! That will be fun!

Papa Roach & Jet? I bet that's going to be an awesome show! I've yet to see either one of them! I've got a couple local shows coming up but my next "national" is **ahem** Tesla in Charleston in November. ;D

Tesla in November. Yeah, see them now because next year they won't be doing but a handful of shows. Dave said in a recent radio interview (SWEDE'S interview) that DRB should be doing a lot more shows next year. Hopefully, this means a tour!
Today it's snowing in Denver.....hmmm, Fresno would be a much more agreeable location today ;D

I wish U2 was coming to SF on their stadium tour. Just watched some youtube footage from the NY gigs and it reminded me that 4 yrs with no U2 shows is way too long!!

I'll be going to the U2 show when they come to Denver next summer. Saw Jet and Papa Roach last night. Barricade view in front of Jerry Horton. Jet has such a big sound and were tight. Will def go see them again. Papa Roach kicked our asses and took our names. What an incredible band to see live.
